The ASRock Industrial 4X4 BOX-8640U is a compact BOX PC with fan from the 4X4 BOX-8040 series. It runs on the AMD Ryzen 5 8640U (6 cores, up to 4.9 GHz) with integrated AMD Radeon graphics; the sister variant 4X4 BOX-8840U uses the Ryzen 7 8840U.
Two 262-pin SO-DIMM slots take up to 96 GB of DDR5-5600 in dual-channel mode. Mass storage is provided by two M.2 Key M with PCIe Gen4 x4 (2242/2280 and 2242); a Wi-Fi 6E module (802.11ax) with Bluetooth 5.2 is installed.
Up to four displays are driven via two HDMI 2.1 (up to 7680 x 4320 at 60 Hz) and two DisplayPort 1.4a outputs via the USB4 ports. In addition, there are 1x USB 3.2 Gen2, 2x USB 2.0, one 2.5 GbE port (Realtek RTL8125BG) and one Gigabit port (Realtek RTL8111H).
The housing measures 117.5 x 110 x 49 mm at 1 kg and is VESA-mountable. Operating temperature 0 to +40 °C, AMD firmware TPM, watchdog timer, 12 to 24 V DC input with 19 V/90 W power adapter.
